Angie and John’s story with AARYAH is rooted in years of connection—long before their engagement. From meeting as kids to selecting our first-ever DEEPA engagement ring and incredibly meaningful wedding bands, their journey is filled with intention and deeply personal design choices.

How They Met

While Angie and John have technically known each other since middle school, their story truly began in high school. They were paired as dance partners for a friend’s quinceañera, and that moment sparked something neither of them expected.
“The rest is history,” John shared.

The Proposal

Months before their trip to Puerto Rico, Angie and John booked flights using leftover travel credits—without any idea that the island would become the backdrop to one of the biggest moments of their lives. By the time the trip arrived, they had chosen an engagement ring, making the beach in Camuy feel like the perfect place to propose.

A last-minute location switch caused some chaos, but with quick teamwork between John and their photographer, everything aligned just in time for sunset.
“It all worked out perfectly,” he said, remembering the glow of that moment.

Finding AARYAH

Before discovering AARYAH, the couple visited several jewelers but struggled to find designs that truly resonated. That changed when Angie came across our asymmetric, nontraditional styles and colorful diamonds online.
“She was immediately excited,” John said. “Walking home after the appointment, I was certain a custom ring from AARYAH was the way to go.”

Bringing Their Vision to Life

For Angie’s engagement ring, the process was seamless—they fell in love with our first DEEPA engagement ring we ever designed and only needed to choose the stone’s color and cut.

John’s wedding band, however, became its own standout piece. He envisioned something that felt just as unique as Angie’s ring: low-profile diamonds set into a bold, sculptural band.
They landed on a toi et moi–inspired men’s band, featuring two contrasting stones: A yellow diamond as a nod to Angie’s engagement ring, and an emerald-cut diamond to represent him.
“Brit [bridal specialist] was so open and encouraging about the idea,” John shared. “A week later we had a rendering and committed. Wonderful experience.”

Symbolism Woven Into Their Rings

Both Angie and John engraved their bands with the words “para siempre”—Spanish for “forever.”
“It’s the hope,” John said. “That we’re lucky enough to spend forever together.”

Their Wedding Day

The couple married in Isabela, at the same resort where they celebrated the day of their engagement—bringing their story beautifully full-circle. They hosted a welcome BBQ the night before to ease nerves and create space to simply enjoy being with loved ones.
“The day of, we could keep our focus on each other,” John said.

Their public vows left not a single dry eye in the crowd.
“I’ve never felt so present and loved in my life,” John recalled.
