Creating Julianna & Sahith’s Bespoke Yellow Diamond Ring

PGA pro golfer Sahith Theegala and now-fiancée Julianna Chan's love story started with a friendship that built slowly over years of shared classes, long days as student athletes, and growing alongside each other at Pepperdine University.

“We were friends for almost 11 years before we started dating,” Julianna shares. “We had the majority of our classes together and were always around each other.”

Four years into their relationship, Sahith planned a proposal that felt deeply personal to both of them: A trip to Hawaii (Julianna’s favorite place in the world). Though the couple had traveled there before for tournaments throughout Sahith’s golf career, this was their first true vacation together. A special time just for them.  

On the second night of the trip, Sahith brought Julianna to a cliff overlooking the ocean and proposed as the sun dipped into the water below. Afterward, he surprised her again... This time with both of their families waiting to celebrate nearby.

“We got to spend the whole weekend with everyone in our favorite place,” she says. “It was perfect.”

Finding the Ring That Felt Like Her

When it came time to design her engagement ring, Julianna knew she wanted something timeless, but not traditional.

“I always wanted a ring that felt timeless but unique,” she says. “When I found AARYAH, I loved that every ring had so much personality.”

Soon after, she discovered a yellow diamond ring on our website that she couldn’t stop thinking about. Rather than recreating it exactly, she decided to use it as a starting point for something entirely her own.

Bringing a Bespoke Vision to Life

For Julianna, the bespoke process was less about following trends and more about refining a feeling she already had in mind.

“I definitely had a vision,” she explains. “I just didn’t know exactly how it was all going to come together.”

Throughout the process, our team worked closely with both Julianna and Sahith to bring that vision into focus: From initial sketches to a 3D printed model that allowed her to see the ring on her hand before production began.

“I loved how intentional the process felt,” she says. “I knew what to expect every step of the way.”

The final result was a custom yellow diamond engagement ring that felt entirely personal to her style: Warm, sculptural, timeless, and unlike anything else.

One of the most meaningful details came quietly, hidden inside the band itself. Working with our team, Sahith added an engraving of their initials. A subtle touch Julianna describes as “the perfect addition to my perfect ring.”

A Wedding Rooted in Meaning

This fall, the couple will return to Hawaii to celebrate their wedding surrounded by family and friends.

“We’re really leaning into a tropical whimsical vibe,” Julianna says. “Lots of tropical florals and natural light.”

The celebration will also honor the many cultures woven into their relationship, incorporating both a traditional Western ceremony and a smaller Hindu ceremony.

And while golf may take a brief backseat for the week, the sport, and the community surrounding it, will still naturally be part of the celebration.

“We’ve made so many amazing friends through golf who will be attending,” she says. “And Hawaii is such a beautiful place to golf, so I’m sure everyone will find their way onto a course at some point during the week.”
